Summer finally arrived at surfcastwales and what a scorcher we had plenty of red heads by the end of the day, there no wind not even a breeze to cool the air.

Christian Brayley once again showed why he is right at the top of the of the casting tree with a magnificent display climaxing with a massive 242.2 meters that’s 265 yards in the old scale in no wind .Next was Pembroke’s own Glyn Ballwin proving his resent run of form a was here to stay hitting an impressive 229.60 meters and in third place was Welsh champion Joe Dowling who cast an equally impressive 227 meters very creditable distances for the conditions.

We were very pleased to see more new faces turning up to make the most of the experience on offer to help improve their distances and above all to cast in a controlled safe manner .We had 3 personal bests this month firstly Roger Davis continued to improve casting a cracking 170 meters on the 175g ,Next was G Hill at his first ever competition with a great cast 135 meters ,and then another newbie T Gough had his PB with a fantastic 125 meters
